Rainfall and Flooding : Creating concern throughout the Chateauguay Valley.

In other Chateauguay area and Valley News, local commuters and residents displayed their frustration once again since record rainfall yesterday created another episode of flooding at the corners of St Jean Baptiste and St Francis in Chateauguay.

All area residents should also be reminded that the record setting 25 to 30 mm of rain since yesterday has also affected the Chateauguay River Basin.

A floodwatch is already in effect for the river near Huntingdon, and the company Hydro Méteo was reported to be monitoring the various water levels along the river's stations.

The Chateauguay river here in our community of Chateauguay is also at a noticeably heightened level, and has already spilled onto the banks at certain spots along the riverside on Salaberry North.

Use precautions when travelling during this weather as hydroplaning is a present hazard on the highways and roads.

Also be minded to respect our pedestrians as they walk to their destinations, try to avoid splashing them at all costs!

Be careful out there as another deluge is expected tomorrow.

Hey Chateauguay and Valley Pedestrians, you'd better walk gingerly and avoid standing too near to the edge of sidewalks and corners!

( Just a little humor to offset the rain's effect on us all :)
