Anti contraband tobacco raids were conducted out in Saint-Anicet about 40 mins southwest of Chateauguay, last October 9th by the Sûreté du Québec. 1790 kg of tobacco, a boat, and 5 vehicles were seized that day. 3 days later, again in St Anicet- another 75 cases of tobacco with bags of cigarettes were found in a UHaul truck - and according to the Sûreté du Québec, the suspect in this case fled by water on Lac St. Francois where he had an accomplice waiting in a boat. The investigations continue...No arrests have been made.
