Lery Burglary Suspects caught in Traffic Stop in Mercier


A residence in Lery was subject to a break-in in the afternoon of April 14.

Three suspects were apprehended after officers from The Châteauguay Police Department intercepted their vehicle following a road violation in Mercier.

The Chateauguay Police reportedly then linked the three occupants of the vehicle to the previous break in at the Lery residence. Several items had been reportedly stolen.

Three men were in turn arrested, and appeared yesterday at the courthouse in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield:

1- A male suspect 19, appeared on charges of possession of cannabis resin, break and enter and theft over $ 5,000, possession of burglary tools, obstruction and breach of condition.

2- A male suspect, 22, appeared on charges of possession of cannabis resin, break and enter and theft over $ 5,000, possession of burglary tools and broken condition.

3- A Male suspect 23, appeared on charges of possession of cannabis resin, break and enter and theft over $ 5,000, possession of burglary tools and broken condition.

The investigation continues as other charges may be pending.
