Can Ya Dig It??

Law enforcement, residents and park officials of Toronto,Ontario are breathing a sigh of relief having just found out that the unknown “Toronto Tunnel Diggers” are just a pair of regular guys who were looking to build a 'Man Cave'.

The 10-metre-long tunnel that was located in the Black Creek Parkland near York University and the Rexall Centre, had been reinforced with wood beams and equipped with an electric generator and other tools in their combined effort to build a little 'home away from home'.

Discovered in January, many Torontonians feared that perhaps undesirables or terrorist related planners may have been involved in the bunker's construction - especially given the proximity to the Sports Center that was slated to host the Pan Am games.

Toronto Police stated that two men in their 20’s are reportedly the culprits. Luckily for them, criminal charges are not being laid “There’s no crime against digging a hole” said police spokesperson Const. Victor Kwong to the Toronto Star. "There was nothing nefarious, there was nothing criminal, it was literally them doing it for a place to hang out".

It remains possible that Toronto city bylaws could result in related infractions and perhaps lead to fines if deemed appropriate by the municipality.

The bunker has now been accordingly sealed and backfilled.
