Anda Ciurezu's beloved 2 year old White Fox Miko was missing upon her arrival home last Thursday morning, February 5th, 2015.
Having reportedly received previous threats directed at Miko that were allegedly provenant from a disgruntled aquaintance, Ms. Ciurezu made her way to the home of a relative connected to the suspected individual in the town of St Jean Sur Richelieu, near Montreal.
In the back yard of that home, she found a horrific scene. Anda searched the area and found the remains of her cherished Miko who had been killed and discarded in a garbage type bag.
Two years ago, Anda had adopted the blue eyed White Fox from a woman who had previously purchased the animal from a Fur farm. No longer willing to keep the Fox, Anda adopted Mika from her.
Anda worked diligently with the animal and progressively tamed Miko to a point where the Fox became like a pet to her.
Here is an excerpt from a statement describing her grief.
"The passing of a loved one is never easy and leaves a gaping hole in your heart, but finding your best friend, your baby, lifeless and victim of a brutal and cruel murder is something I don't wish anyone to go through, ever.
Miko was not a pet to me, he was my best friend, my confident, my little baby, my love. He was my whole world. All those who personally know me will remember all the weekends that I spent with Miko, simply relaxing and enjoying the present time instead of hanging out with human friends. Miko crossed my mind at every moment of the day."
A group has been created in light of the horrific event seeking justice for Miko.
The SPCA is reportedly investigating the case.
Car stickers in Miko's memory, for sale. ALL profits will go to the SPCA of Montreal so they can help save more animals in the future, so don't hesitate to donate and share!
