BOMB SQUAD NEUTRALIZES SUSPICIOUS PACKAGE ON CREPIN STREET

Explosive specialists of the Sûreté du Québec were called in when a suspicious package was found in front of the Chateauguay Muslim Cultural Center on Crépin street yesterday.
An early morning call to 911 alerted the police to the package, and homes in proximity were evacuated as the Chateauguay Police and SQ Bomb Squad secured the area.
A similar event happened recently in November at Chateauguay’s Boucherie Halal on Boulevard D’Anjou when a suspicious suitcase had been left in front of the building. It was later found empty after being neutralized by the Police.
In both cases, no explosives or devices were found in either of the suspect items.
