Is corn on the cob sweeter over the border?
Ontario corn producers are having a great summer with sweet corn flooding the produce market at home and in Quebec. Due to weather related issues, this season's Quebec corn is a little late and not as sweet thus far. A little rain and more sunshine should ameliorate the quality in the harvests. It is also selling more expensively than it's Ontarian counterpart.
5 dozen of the Ontario corn can be bought for $15.00, where as Quebec grown corn hovers at around $5.00 per dozen. Will Mother Nature bring Quebec corn the much needed balance of rain and sunshine that it needs? Only time will tell..
