Filming will begin tomorrow at Chateauguay’s Centre multisport/Arena where it will be featured in the 3rd season of the APTN TV show called ‘Hit the Ice’.Filming will take place over a 3 week period, from 24 July to 12 August, and shall feature some of the best hockey players ranked in Aboriginal Midget AAA as well as Junior A categories.
Led by former professional hockey player and coach John Chabot, the show depicts the players attending a training camp of the National Hockey League levels. From physical training, on ice drills and different team building activities, the 20 prospects will experience the highs and lows of being a team member of a professional calibre training camp.
At the end of the training camp, junior level recruiters will be on hand to assess these up and coming star players as they play in an exhibition match between the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and an Ontario Hockey League. This is where they get the chance to demonstrate their skills and strut their stuff for the Hockey scouts.
The show will air on the APTN network in the winter 2015, the third season of Hit the Ice with 13 episodes of 22 minutes each. Its financing comes from Television Network of Indigenous Peoples (APTN) and the Canada Media Fund.
